What is the exact speed of this processor? it says 1.46 But i'm not sure whether it is actually more than that because of the two processors running instead of one yadayada... All i really want to know is can i play Spore! Spores minimum requirements are as follows.

* FOR WINDOWS VISTA * 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

* * 768 MB RAM

* * A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

* * At least 6 GB of hard drive space

* When launching the game, some Microsoft Vista users may receive a warning about running out of address space along with a link to the Microsoft Knowledge Base. If you see this message, it is recommended that you follow the instructions and go to the website listed in the message to update your system.

* For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

* Intel Integrated Chipset, 945GM or above.

* 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.

* 768 MB RAM

My laptops specs are:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz (running @1463MHz) with the requirement Intel Pentium 4 (running @2000MHz)

Windows Vista

2GB of system RAM

Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family)

*Video RAM - 448MB

*Video Card 3D Acceleration

*Pixel shader 3.0

Free space: 54.4 GB

Can anyone tell me whether it is even close and if i have any chance of it working??

Thanks, Finlay

  1. Your Dual Core Intel mobile processor, has two processor cores operating at 1.46GHz EACH. This doesn't add up to a 2.92GHz processor. The processor still operates at 1.46GHz.

(Crude example: You have a man digging a ditch outside. Take him out, and put two men of the same build, in his place. Which scenario gets the job done faster? This is a comparison of a single core processor, to a dual core processor.)

    http://www.sporerevolution.com/system_re...

Except for your processor, the game should work. You have a Pentium Dual Core 1.46GHz processor. They indicate that a Intel Core2 Duo at 1.8GHz is the minimum. The Intel Core2 Duo has more L2 cache, and a faster FSB. I still think your processor will work though. You have Win Vista. You have an Intel GM965 chipset. You have 2GB's of ram.

    You have Pixel Shader 3.0

I think the game should work fine. If you do indeed get the message, and the link to the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Go there, and follow the instructions. Need help when/if, this happens? Email me.

    1.Intel Pentium Dual Core:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Penti...

2.Intel Pentium Dual Core mobile version T2310:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Int... (Scroll down this page to the heading 'Dual Core Mobile Processors'  Look under the heading "Merom-1M" (65nm)

Look at the specs to the right of Pentium Dual Core T2310.

3.Intel Core2 Duo 1.8GHz mobile processor. (Mobile processors are for laptops. Desktop processors are self-explanatory)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Int...

Scroll down to the Dual Core Mobile processors heading.

Spore program designers could be referring to any Merom standard voltage, or Merom low voltage processor that is 1800MHz,(1.8GHz. Same/same), or higher in frequency speed. Starting with Merom standard voltage Core2 Duo T5600, (1833MHz, or 1.83GHz), on up, to Merom low voltage Core2 Duo LV L7700. (1.8GHz, or 1800MHz.)

    Your processor has a 533MHz FSB, (Stated as 533 MT/s) The Intel Core2 Duo's listed above either have a 667MHz FSB, or a 800MHz FSB, (Again, stated as 667 MT/s, or 800 MT/s)

You may, or may not get game lag, but I bet Microsoft will tell you how to correct this in Win Vista. This is probably what the Microsoft Knowledge Base article they are referring about, tells you.

  2. most game requirements are in single core figures. To find out if your processor meets the 2.0 ghz line you would have to see a performance rating for your processor. A performance rating tells what the single core equivalent to your duel core processor is. This website will tell you weather or not you can run this game, and how well you can expect to run it. It also takes into consideration the fact that you have a dual core processor and performance rates it for you.  Your laptop should meet the 2.0 ghz requirement, but i'm not sure by how much.

Note: you should probably try to run this website from internet explorer. I had some active x issues with fire fox.

  3. Your system will problally struggle to do much in that game...  Even though it is dual core, most demanding games require 2.4ghz to run them very well...  Try low settings in the game...
