  1. Flip a coin; heads Intel, tails AMD.  Both are good chips with their own pros and cons.  AMD builds seem to be less costly than Intel builds, but that is my opinion.

  2. intel is way better, because if you are into hardcore gaming like games like crysis AMD's can overheat and burn out

  3. Intel is much quieter than amd. Intel uses less power so laptops will last longer on Intel, Amd will use more power and it will become warm so amd is fast, better for desktop, if your traveling using a laptop, then intel is a little bit better because if your a business person then you won't really care about the speed, only to be able to do the job then it'll be ok.

Why don't you go to the shops and put 2 same speeds of computers together and compare and then decide which one you want to buy.

    Don't argue about processors

  4. If you have less then 100 bucks to spend, I would say spend your money on an AMD processor. If you have around 150, you have to go to Intel. But at that point you have two choices - the E7200 or E8400. The E7200 costs around 113 so if you're on a tight budget and you have 13 bucks to spend that's good too. The E8400 is a overclocking monster though, you can get 3.6ghz on stock cooling.

So, to sum it up, it's all about how much money you have to spend. Don't bother with AMD quad cores though, they're really terrible for what you pay.

  5. I just looked into building a gaming computer for a long time and decided on the e8400 by intel. Intel is clearly better.

  6. Intel is stronger than an AMD processor. If you compare a dual-core Intel and AMD processor at the same price it may look like AMD has the edge. But the clock-speed it a difference buy like 0.5 GHz so you cant tell the difference. Then an FSB on an Intel processor is 2x stronger and Intel offers L3 cache while AMD still only offers L2 (they do in higher quad core but not dual core). So I personally would take the high powered Intel CPU. I have dual Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU's on my system and nothing compares to it. Intel is the better option. The GHz dont matter.

  7. AMD is cheaper but Intel is much better quality.

  8. I've been using AMD since they started overpowering Intel way back in the day. Ive been wanting to build a Intel just for first hand experience on what they are like now, but I just cant bring myself to do it.  Every build I've done has been AMD.

I build gaming systems which AMD systems are good with.  Intel has more luck with other processes for buisness needs.

For the money I've found AMD builds are the way to go since to get your money out of Intel builds you generally need to overclock them.

  9. I used to be a big AMD fan, but once they started using "like" numbers for speed I went intel.

  10. They are both very good processors, they are just rival companies.  Intel is just more widely known due to their fabulous marketing skills.

  11. get an e1200 and overclock it to 3ghz
