Samuel Eto’o – http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paolo-Cannavaro-c29080
One must pity the poor Cameroonian who had to shoulder goal scoring burden of Serie A and Champions League for the first six months this season. Inter Milan have scored 32 goals in all competitions this season and Eto’o has contributed by scoring half of
them. Just what would have happened to Inter had Eto’o been injured is beyond comprehension.
Granted, the former Barcelona ace has faced stronger defences than the Partenopei rearguard. However, the Cameroonian will return to action after three weeks of rest and it’s arguable whether he will hit the scoring ways running.
The task of handling the Cameroonian will be given to Partenopei skipper Paolo Cannavaro. While Paolo is not half as talented as his more illustrious brother, he still possesses the same leadership skills. Paolo will be responsible for organizing the three
man http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 defence and he will have to put in a captain’s performance if Napoli are to win against Leonardo’s Inter Milan.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073
Walter Samuel-Lucio was the best centre back pairing on the planet last season as Mourinho forged an impenetrable team. The watertight defence continued to feature this season. Even though Nerazzurri forwards, barring Eto’o, lost the plot early on in the
season, the resilient Nerazzurri continued to eke out results. That was until Samuel’s season ending injury.
Rafa Benitez didn’t have the personnel to cope with such a loss and Inter started shipping in goals from that point onwards. With Leonardo in charge and Andrea Ranocchia already settling down at San Siro, Moratti is finally on the right track. The 22-year-old
defender is likely to start alongside Lucio and all eyes will be on the young prodigy.
Even though Lavezzi will not play as an out-and-out striker, he is likely to drift towards the left more often than not. When that happens, Lavezzi will be directly running at Ranocchia. The mercurial Argentine brings bundles of energy to the Azzurri attack,
and his ability to draw the opposition defence out of position will be critical to Napoli ambitions.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799
Wesley Sneijder was arguably the best midfielder in the world last season – FIFA might beg to differ though – and years of continuous football has finally taken its toll. The Dutch maestro was diagnosed with anaemia this season. Sneijder was granted special
permission to take a trip home but it would take more than a few days break to get the Nerazzurri no. 10 firing on all cylinders.
Gargano will be the player responsible for keeping Wesley in check. The South American is one of the most underrated players in Serie A but his ball winning abilities are exceptional at times. Should Sneijder be able to rediscover some of his form, he is
likely to feed Eto’o those juicy and decisive through balls. We all know what happens when Eto’o gets the ball in opposition penalty area.
