Inter Milan and AC Milan target Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben – Serie A Update
If the reports emerging from Italy are to be believed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, to San Siro in the upcoming transfer window. The winger comes with a huge price tag and it is expected that the Nerazzurri will compromise a player in order to acquire Robben.
Robben is unlikely to be present in Munich for the next season as he has been having problems with his teammate, Franck Ribery, and the relationship between the two footballers is getting frostier by the day. Consequently, the Dutch International is keeping his options open for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Nerazzurri would be more than happy to pounce on the opportunity at hand and get the talismanic second striker onboard. Reports indicate that club president Massimo Moratti is willing to pay 20 million Euros along with the Macedonian striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Goran-Pandev-c15161, for Robben’s services - a fruitful offer for the Bundesliga giants.
AC Milan, meanwhile, are also looking to table a bid for Robben. With the Rossoneri keen on revamping the squad ahead of the 2011/12 season, a host of players are set to depart San Siro for clubs elsewhere. Robben, thus, would be a welcome addition to a slow and static Milan midfield.
Recently talking to the media, the Rossoneri head coach Massimiliano Allegri revealed that the club has made contact with the Dutch International. The tactician said:
"Robben is in the sights of Milan and there was contact between the player and the managers at Rossoneri. The landing in Milan, the champions Italy is undoubtedly a source of great pride for him and the player will be happy to come to San Siro."
With a base price tag of almost 30 million Euros, Robben would have to work hard in order to justify his hefty price tag. The winger has been in a tremendous form this season, scoring 10 goals in his 12 appearances for the Bavarian giants to along with 4 successful goal assists.
The two outfits from Milan are both keen on having the Bavarian on their side for the next season but the problem at both ends would be the asking price. Robben is under contract until the summers of 2013 and the Germans would not let go of their winger easily.
