Inter Milan coach Leonardo Araujo delighted after Roma win – Coppa Italia Update
Inter Milan manager, Leonardo Araujo was delighted after Inter beat Roma 0-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday, April 19, in the first-leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, a victory which ended Inter's losing run in the league.
Leonardo was content with the outcome of the game and talking to the club’s official website, the tactician said, "It was important to break the string of poor results. Many times it seems easy to do but it's not, because managing all the different factors
in a match is never easy."
"The team did well to react and get the win, which is never a given here in the Stadio Olimpico. I witnessed an excellent management of the play over the first 90 minutes. Now there's the return leg at the San Siro, with everything to play for," added the
manager.
Just less than 2 weeks ago, Inter were looking forward to achieve the treble for a second time in a row, however, inconsistency put them out of the Serie A and UEFA Champions League race. The Nerazzurri saw an unfortunate exit from the UEFA Champions League,
losing 7-3 on aggregate to Schalke 04.
The Serpent lost track of the Scudetto race after losing the derby to AC Milan and then the game against Parma. With a deficit of 8 points between them and league’s top runners, Milan, the remaining 5 games will not be enough to cover up for the damage already
done.
However, Inter's win in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia has given their confidence a much needed boost and the Nerazzurri are looking forward to replicate their performance at the San Siro to secure a place in the final of the cup. Leonardo said that
