Inter Milan defender Maicon looks set to leave San Siro
Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti is reluctant to lose his Brazilian international Maicon Douglas, but with heavy interest coming from both Real Madrid and Manchester City, it’s been suggested that his days at the San Siro could be numbered.
Jose Mourinho is the new man in charge at the Bernabeu and is a keen admirer of the defenders qualities. It has been reported that the club are willing to pay €25million (£20.7m) which falls short of Inter's valuation of €35m (£28.9m).
Maicon has also expressed his desire to play at the Benabeu, so the only thing left is for Madrid president Florentino Perez and Massimo Moratti to reach some form of agreement.
City may not be able to offer Maicon Champions league football, but look the more reliable team in ensuring both club and player are looked after financially.
Roberto Mancini may only have one more season left at the Eastland’s and will be in every attempt to try and sign the Brazilian defender who’s scored seven goals for Treble winners Inter last season, and bagged Brazil’s first goal against North Korea in last week’s World Cup match.
Also according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Maicon has also notified the owner of his current home that he will not be renewing his lease at the property because he was “going to leave Milan.”
So a move is looking highly likely, where will the 28-year-old end up?
