Widespread reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 suggest that Inter Milan are looking to sign Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Forlan, as a replacement for Samuel Eto’o.
The Cameroonian international is on the verge of completing his €30m move to Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala, in the next few days. Several names including Napoli’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez, were linked
with the former Italian Champions but now Forlan has entered into the race.
The former Manchester United striker has recently returned to the training camp in Madrid after participating in the 2011 Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero to Manchester City, Atletico might be reluctant in selling
the Uruguayan international.
Atletico Director, Miguel Angel http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276, and Marin confirmed
that if he is successful in his pursuit, only then they will listen to offers for the Uruguayan.
Talking to the reporters the Director said, “At the moment we are not interested in selling Forlan, especially after we sold Sergio Aguero. However, we are tracking another attacker as we are interested in and very close to getting
Falcao. If we manage to complete that deal then we are ready to listen to offers for Forlan.”
The 32-year-old has attracted interest from host of European clubs including Manchester City, Real Madrid and UAE club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon and is looking
to leave the club this summer.
Atletico have been quiet throughout the summer transfer window and have made only few signings this summer. The Director has vowed to open his chequebook and spend the huge amounts received from the sale of Aguero. Along with Falcao,
they are also reportedly interested in signing the French striker, Andre-Pierre Gignac.
Forlan joined Atletico from Villarreal in 2007 and has scored 96 goals in 195 games thus far.
