Leonardo said that his team have had a brilliant end to the season and have played some great football. He revealed that the season was a mixed one as a lot of important players had been out injured. The manager claimed that beating Roma in the semi-final
was a difficult task and his side showed the quality over the two legs to go through.
“This team have ended the season very well by reaching the Coppa Italia final. This year we were penalised by injuries but the team always gave their best. The Brazilian insisted that he had no regrets over joining Inter Milan after so many years with city rivals AC Milan. He stated that it was a very difficult decision to join the Nerazzurri but it has paid off. He added that he has full support of President
Massimo Moratti and hopefully he can bring the Italian club to San Siro at the end of the season.
“I don't have regrets. The rapport with [president Massimo] Moratti is still perfect, even after my difficult decision to come here from Milan,” he concluded.
Internazionale will face Palermo in the final of the Coppa Italia on May 29 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The Sicilians downed AC Milan 4-3 on aggregate in the other semi-final.
