The Brazilian stated that Milan is a quality team and they are rightly crowned as the champions. He also expressed his disappointment on Inter not winning the trophy after coming so close to the city rivals.
“I try to follow my own path. My only regret is that we didn't win it, as we almost overtook them. However AC Milan did deserve it. They are a good team and I have no problem whatsoever looking back at my past,” the manager was quoted as saying in an interview
to the club’s official website.
The tactician hailed his side’s victory against Fiorentina over the weekend and claimed that it was important to build their lead over third placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 for a Champions League group stage berth. He praised the team’s performance and stated that his players
outclassed the opposition in every aspect.
“This victory was necessary to keep us on track for our targets: to get a Champions League place for next season and to finish second. Today, apart from the heat and the fatigue, they took control of the game, coming in at half-time with a 2-0 lead and then
they kept control all through the second-half,” he concluded.
Leonardo has won 18 of the 27 games he has managed as the Nerazzurri boss and had brought them back into title contention after being handed the managerial post in December last year. The Brazilian has only lost seven games in his tenure so far and drawn
two.
