The Brazilian said that he was very happy with his side’s performance against Sampdoria and that it was very important to win after losing to Bayern Munich 1-0 at home in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knock-out stage.
Leonardo added that winning the match was crucial for Inter as they have played a lot of matches recently and was full of praise for a host of players after the game.
“Everyone played very well from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-Cesar-c19961, to all the defence. Stankovic and Sneijder were extraordinary, as were Zanetti, Pazzini, Kharja and everyone else. Winning this evening, we had to claim more than just three points, as we are tired from our recent
matches,” said Leonardo.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan have seen a revival under the new manager and are now very much in the race for the title after a struggling start to the 2010-11 season under Rafa Benitez. The treble winners of the previous season are now two points behind their Milan rivals
in second place, having played a game more.
The manager said that the Nerazzurri are in an excellent position on the table and said that he would hope that his former club play a draw against third placed Napoli in Monday’s clash. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 said the next three clashes would be the most crucial and
will give a clearer picture.
“We are in an excellent position on the ladder, and tomorrow I will be supporting a draw [when Milan take on Napoli]. But thinking about us, the next three league matches will help us shape our future,” said the Brazilian.
Leonardo added that he would try to play more than the two strikers deployed against Sampdoria but for that, he would have to look at the condition of the players first. He said that he would play a balanced side and would prefer winning by scoring less
goals rather than conceding as many goals.
Inter await the result of Monday’s clash between AC Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. A win for Milan would put them five points clear of their city rivals whereas a draw would be the best result for Inter and keep them in second place.
