Inter Milan’s influential midfielder Dejan Stankovic is still proud to be a Nerazzurri despite their downfall in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Inter’s ongoing term has been disappointing as compared to their last year’s record of being the only team from Italy to complete the treble of titles.
In a recent interview, Stankovic said, “Inter are a team who for five years have won everything that they could win, so it's normal that they now attack us. Right now we have to not let it get to us, keep our mouths shut and pedal on regardless.”
“I have to admit it. I am very proud. Even in the difficult moments I have always said that I am proud to have worn this shirt and to be supported by these fans because what they are doing is extraordinary. I am really proud to be supported by a group of
this nature,” he added.
Inter Milan are surely out of the race for Scudetto after missing out on a couple of valuable points recently. First, they lost the Derby della Madonnina to their long city rivals AC Milan and over the past weekend, they lost their away game against Parma.
It has given AC Milan a lead of 8 points at the top of the table and with just 5 games remaining in the season, the Serpent has no chance of covering up the deficit.
That’s not all. Inter crashed out of their UEFA Champions League campaign in a disappointing manner at the hands of Schalke 04 in the quarter-finals.
The German outfit thrashed the Italians 7-3 on aggregate to send them out of the most prestigious football events of Europe. Now the defending champions of the treble are left with just one title in their hands, the Coppa Italia.

Roma are looking strong and the men in black and blue jerseys need to keep their concentration on the task at hand and stay focused
on winning the title if they want to end the season on a high note.
