http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international and Inter Milan’s defensive midfielder, Esteban Cambiasso admired the fans for coming out in numbers and supporting the Nerazzurri outfit who have been in awful form of late.
The 30-year-old was talking in the wake of Inter’s defeat to Palermo which has further dented their hopes for the Serie A title.
Both teams met on Saturday, 16 April, 2011 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini and goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381 added insult to an already flattened Inter unit. Leonardo Araujo’s outfit was earlier thumped out of the UEFA Champions League by Schalke
04.
The Argentine also praised the club’s president for supporting a depleted Inter unit who have been under fire and claimed that this is what the Black and Blues need in order to regain the lost confidence.
Cambiasso said, “We have to thank our supporters, just as we must thank our president for the words that he dedicated to us this week. Unfortunately we weren't able to satisfy anybody, neither the fans nor the president.”
The former Real Madrid man confirmed that every team has to go through a lean patch and there are times when the luck is totally with you but sometimes, it is the complete opposite.
He further added, “There are times when everything easily goes your way, and then there are others, like today, where you have to stick it out and work hard. Now we're looking forward, as this team has always done. We'll keep our heads up, hopefully with
a bit more clearness of mind. We wanted to win because we don't like losing. This team has desire as well as commitment. Unfortunately, today it went wrong.”
Inter Milan are currently third in the Serie A with 63 points and now find themselves 8 points short of the current leaders AC Milan. With just five games remaining in the season, a win in each of those could stand them an outside chance of winning the Scudetto
provided Milan slip in form.
