The Nerazzurri president has hailed the team on the crucial victory against Chievo Verona, but insists that they need to do better against the Phoceens.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan President Massimo Moratti has expressed his delight over a resolute team performance against the Gialloblu, after the Nerazzurri picked up their first win in their last 10 matches.
The Nerazzurri were without a win since January, but scored two in the final three minutes of the game to beat Chievo 2-0.
The Beneamata president insisted that results are his foremost priority, and the fact that the goals came late did not matter to him. He expressed his delight over his team’s growth, and also the way the players celebrated the
win.
While talking to the press, the patron said:
“The result was the most important thing, then I am happy the team is growing and the goals can also give us a morale boost going forward to the next challenges.”
“At the end everyone was embracing and happy, especially as there was a special party atmosphere with it being the ‘birthday’ of Inter.”
The Nerazzurri chief insisted that the win is important going into the UEFA Champions League game against Olympique Marseille, where the team will need every ounce of enthusiasm to overturn the one-goal deficit from the first-leg
“This result will help the lads against Marseille in the Champions League, but they already know how to overturn the result.”
Moratti is happy but not entirely content with his team, and insisted that they will need to accomplish more against Marseille.
“I think we need more ambition and grit against Marseille.”
The Beneamata chief believes that Inter’s win over Chievo was a result of team performance, and is confident that they can topple the French giants too.
Olympique Marseille are not in the best of forms either, having suffered their fourth consecutive defeat to Ajaccio on Friday.
Inter Milan will play Olympique Marseille in the second-leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on March 13th, at Giuseppe Meazza.
