A source close to Italian Champions Inter Milan has revealed that the Nerazzurri are planning a summer swoop for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.
Tevez has made clear his intentions of leaving Eastlands and has always stated his desire to play in the Serie A. Tevez twice submitted a transfer request at Manchester City but manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 turned it down both on both occasions. The Italian is
not willing to part company with his prized asset and has always insisted that Tevez’ future lies in Manchester.
The club representative revealed that Tevez was in Milan last Thursday and met with the club officials to discuss a possible deal. The club are willing to pay 25 million pounds to secure the signature of the former Manchester United man.
The club source said, "I think Inter will be prepared to open dialogue for anything up to €25m. It's not just a rumour, it's more than that. If he leaves City and comes to Serie A, Inter are the first in line. They are the favourites to get him in Italy."
Inter are currently in second place in the Serie A standings, and are on the verge of being knocked out of the UEFA Champions League, after a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Schalke 04 in the first leg of the quarter-final tie. The future of manager Leonardo
is also in doubt and Tevez’ transfer depends on the managerial situation at Inter next season.
The source added, "[The transfer] depends on the coaching situation at Inter. Leonardo will not be confirmed as coach; this appears almost certain. Inter is already looking for a very top coach to come in. So Tevez to Inter depends on who the new man will
be and what players he wants. “
Tevez has been in scintillating form this season and is the second highest goal scorer in the Premier League with 19 goals to his name so far. The former West Ham United man has been inspirational in guiding Manchester City towards a top four finish this
season.
