“Inter stops Motta: not PSG” were the headlines of Corriere dello Sport, “Moratti says no to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan have no plans to sell Thiago Motta to Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian
midfielder has been hotly linked with a move to Parc des Princes and reports claim that he might already have agreed terms with the Ile giants.
However, things have taken a new direction in the past few hours. Inter Milan manager, Claudio Ranieri has expressed his desire to keep Motta and it now appears that Paris Saint-Germain’s 8 million Euros offer for the midfielder has been rebuffed by the
San Siro giants.
For PSG sporting director Leonardo, it might be a small setback as he might make a better proposal to Inter Milan for the services of the Oriundi.
While talking to RTL, the Brazilian hinted of the club’s failure to sign the player by saying, “Inter wants to keep the player. He has a good relationship with his club. It’s not a question of price but of choice.”
However, it could still be a matter of price as reports claim that a price of over 10 million Euros could be hard to resist for Inter especially as Motta’s agent is putting a lot of pressure on the directors of the Lombardi club.
“Either Inter extends (Motta’s contract) or sell him”, said Motta’s agent Canova while talking to Sportitalia. Under contract at the San Siro until 2013, Motta has already agreed to join PSG but will have no problem in staying at Inter if his contract is
extended.
However, it seems that PSG are desperate in signing the Italo-Brazilian midfielder and would be considering making an offer to the Serie A side they might not be able to resist.
So far, Leonardo has failed to bring in a star player to Parc des Princes this January so he will be looking to avoid failure this time around.
