The Montpellier Herault star is a highly sought after player following his Ligue 1 exploits and it seems that the Italian Serie A giants are keen to have him at the San Siro for next season
A few weeks back while talking to the media, Moroccan international, Younes Belhanda spoke about his future with Ligue 1 side Montpellier Herault. The young midfielder said that it would be extraordinary for him to play in the UEFA Champions League next
season with his current club.
“Yes, I want to stay. Champions League with my club, it will be something extraordinary. For now, I’m here. Normally, yes (I’ll stay). I want to play in the Champions League.”
However, in less than two weeks, the status quo might have changed. Olivier Giroud, who along with Younes Belhanda was one of Montpellier’s star performers in the Championelle-winning season, is almost an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player.
Early this May, Belhanda was hotly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain but it seems that the capital club’s interest has cooled down. At this moment, there aren’t many clubs that have been successful in luring Belhanda away from the Mosson.
Reports in Italian media now claim that Belhanda is attracting a lot of interest from Italian Serie A side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan.
The Lombardi club has been following the Moroccan for a long time and would love to make him an integral part of their rebuilding process.
RMC claims that the Milan giants are set to invite Belhanda to visit the club’s training facilities. However, it still remains to be seen if this would be enough to convince him. Belhanda is very attached to Montpellier after spending all of his time there
and would want to play in the Champions League for them.
Furthermore, if the sporting side of it is given some consideration, Belhanda might never agree to join a club that will offer him Europa League football. Thus, the player will surely consider staying put as he will have the chance of playing in Europe’s
most prestigious club competition next season.
Though Giroud is leaving, Belhanda’s loyalty bodes well for La Paillade who are going to make a few signings of their own this summer.
