The Nerazzurri captain urges his team to stop thinking about ambitions for the season, and start by winning one match and then thinking about the others.
Inter Milan captain, Javier Zanetti, believes that though the Napoli defeat has come against a strong opposition, but his team cannot afford the consecutive losses to go on.
While talking to Inter’s official Channel, the skipper said:
“Losing to Napoli we can handle, but not so many consecutive losses. This is the worrying part.”
The Nerazzurri are having a disastrous 2012, having lost seven of their last eight games so far. The team has also failed to put any shot into the oppositions net in their last five games. Claudio Ranieri, the Inter coach, has already termed the month as”dark
February” for the club.
Zanetti went on to comment that there is nothing wrong with Ranieri’s approach to the Inter game, and the defeats have a lot to do with the Nerazzurri’s failing luck.
“The approach for Napoli was good, but at the slightest mistake we get heavily punished and then it seems that we lack the strength to start again.” Zanetti continued.
The Inter captain has urged his team to alter their approach to the game, and stop thinking about their place in the season amidst consecutive defeats. He believes that inter should only think about their next game.
“Now we have to start by winning one match and then thinking about the others. Things can’t continue like this.”
The Argentine accepted responsibility for the team’s poor performances, and insists that it is about time for the Nerazzurri to make a new start that they have been looking to make for so long.
“We've been talking for ages now about starting again, but we haven't managed to do it. We take responsibility for this.”
The skipper went on to say that the environment at the club is quickly turning to that of worry and regret. He insisted that the team needs to pull up their socks, and keep working hard, as it is the only way to start winning again.
