The Nerazzurri hosted the bottom of the league side in the mid-week and thrashed the strugglers 4-1 at San Siro. However, the tactician believes that his men still lack confidence.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan played their last game of 2011 against US Lecce at home on Wednesday and easily defeated the inconsistent side, registering a 4-1 result to secure maximum points from the game.
However, the Nerazzurri head coach, Claudio Ranieri, still believes that his team lacks confidence at the moment and need to build it up to have a better second half of the season.
The coach was recently talking to the media where he said:
"Little by little we are recovering. But we are still far off from the Inter I have in mind. We want to return to be fighting for the top positions and in order for that to happen we have to continue to win."
Furthermore, the tactician believes that there is room for improvement and his men are learning from their mistakes. The coach was happy with his team’s performance against Lecce, but talking about the game against Cesena, Ranieri said that there were many
shortcomings in that game despite the 1-0 win.
"We are still lacking self-confidence. We made many mistakes at Cesena and the only positive aspect was that we won. But we must continue to work hard in order to resolve the problems we still have," said the Inter coach.
The Nerazzurri had a troubled start to the season where they lost consecutive games, leading to the sacking of the head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini. Claudio Ranieri was appointed as the new tactician at San Siro and the Italian giants are slowly making progress
now.
Inter now occupy 5th spot in the Italian top flight going into the winter break. The Nerazzurri have gained 26 points from 16 games so far this season, but they are still 8 points short of the top seated AC Milan and Juve.
