Inter Milan thrash Genoa to keep Serie A title hopes alive
Leonardo’s high flying Inter Milan thrashed Genoa 5-2 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday to keep their hopes alive for the Serie A title.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuto-Nagatomo-c37726 scored a goal each added by a brace from Samuel Eto’o, securing all three points for Milan.
Anything other than a win for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 in this match would have surely dented their ambitious hopes of retaining the title considering leaders AC Milan had beaten Juventus on Saturday in Turin.
The home side played an attacking 4-1-2-1-2 formation with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096 in the central midfield while
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 playing just behind them.
The visitors were without star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rafinha-c30431 provided support from the wings.
Inter started the match strongly and dominated possession right from the start. An 11th minute goal from Eto’o was disallowed by the linesman, ruling the Cameroonian offside. Eto’o was at it once again in the 20th minute with a shot
from outside the box but Genoa goalkeeper Eduardo was up to the task.

give the visitors the advantage.
Inter wasted no time after the interval and equalised through Pazzini after a good pass from Maicon from the right, just five minutes into the second half. The home side took the lead in the very next minute through Samuel Eto’o, who put the ball in from
close range after an error from Eduardo.
The Nerazzurri scored their third goal in a matter of seven minutes and it was another mistake from the Genoa defence. Eto’o took advantage of a mistake from Giandomenico Mesto and fired home the third.
Inter had emerged as a more spirited force post the interval and totally dominated the midfield, forcing the Genoa players back into their own half. The Champions got their fourth goal through Goran Pandev in the 71st minute after some brilliant
build-up play from Sneijder and Eto’o.
It was getting embarrassing for the Rossoblu but it did not end there. Nagatomo converted a late penalty for the hosts to make it 5-1. Genoa were able to get a late consolation in the dying moments of the match with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauro-Boselli-c24964 scoring a goal.
Inter convincingly defeated the opposition after an excellent second half performance, keeping title hopes still alive. They next travel to Brescia whereas Genoa face Palermo at home in the League.
