Leonardo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Araujo-c6435 is appointed as the new manager for Inter Milan after former manager Rafael Benitez’s dismissal. A statement from Inter’s official website www. inter.it welcomed Leonardo as the new manager on Friday. An agreement has been signed between
him and the European Champions which will tie him until 30 June, 2012. The former AC Milan boss will take charge on 29th December, 2010. His only experience as a manager came at AC Milan. Inter believe that Leonardo has the experience and class of champions
and his mentality will get the squad together to get the expected results.
Having replaced Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez joined Inter Milan in June 2010 and just after six months of ripped relations with the club executives, he was sacked last week for his acrimonious act at Abu Dhabi where he made a press briefing after the FIFA
Club World Cup triumph. Rafa criticized players for not following his orders, taking decisions on their own, and also the club management for not helping him out for the January transfer window. Inter president, Massimo Moratti, wrote to him asking for a justification
for his reckless act while their relations were gone beyond repair and club management, with a mutual satisfactory agreement, released the contract early.
Adriano Galliani, Vice President AC Milan, was quite sad on Leonardo’s joining to the blue and black outfit; their biggest rival on the field. He said, “I do not know what my reaction would be but Leonardo certainly had an important position for AC Milan.
He made a successful career with AC Milan, first as a player then coach and then as a manager.” The Brazilian World cup winner, Leonardo, will try hard to bridge the gap in Serie A, retaining the Champions League title and building a competitive squad as,
prior to his appointment, he had given a statement of signing Kaka for Inter Milan. He also needs to work on the final 16 clash against Bayern Munich, whom they had beaten in the May 2010 final. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096, backed the decision to sign Leonardo
as a quality replacement for Rafael Benitez. He said, “Leonardo has a lot of experience as a coach and as a player from the days he himself used to play.”
