The Nerazzurri President wants to beat A.C Milan in the battle to sign the former Manchester United star, and looking forward to Milan derby…
Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti, has confirmed that the Nerazzurri are keen to sign unsettled Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez.
Recent reports in the media suggested that the Nerazzurri have joined their bitter rivals, AC Milan, in race to sign the Argentine international. Tevez has been strongly linked with a move to the Rossoneri, and the player has even
agreed personal terms with the club. However, City’s huge transfer demands remain a stumbling block in his move to the Italian Champions.
Moratti is confident of landing the former Manchester United star in January, and insists that the player will be a huge addition to the squad.
While talking to the media, the Nerazzurri said,
“Tevez? If we do something it is not in jest but because we think it will be a good move. We received information on how things stood and that there was room to act, we’ll see if we can do it or not. There are still 20 days left.
Am I optimistic about a deal for Tevez? It’s not a matter of being optimistic; we’ll just see how things are.”
A.C Milan were initially adamant on their stance of signing Tevez on a free loan with an option to buy in the summer. However, City wanted upfront cash and a permanent move for the want-away star. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567’s interest in the striker
has forced the Rossoneri to step up their bid, and it is reported that the Italian Champions have agreed terms with the Premier League leaders.
With Milan derby just around the corner, the battle to sign the Argentine will provide perfect build-up to the game.
Moratti is looking forward to the derby, and is optimistic of his team’s chances of winning the game.
“It is an important week, I was glad to see the team do well on Saturday because it gives us greater confidence in the coming days.”
The two teams will lock horns at the San Siro on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
