The Nerazzurri manager insists that his team has the hunger and determination to emerge from the growing crisis
Following the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Napoli, the Inter Milan manager has expressed his belief that the Nerazzurri can still return to winning ways.
While talking to press the Inter boss said:
“We lost games, but we have the hunger and determination to return to winning ways.”
Inter Milan are currently under tremendous pressure, having lost seven of their last eight games. Inter have failed to provide challenge to their oppositions, having failed to score a single goal in their last five official games.
The 1-0 defeat to Napoli is the latest in the series of losses, which is quickly becoming a dark chapter in La Beneamata’s 103 years of history.
The Milan manager pointed out that the game against Napoli was not an easy one:
“It was a particular game and we knew Napoli would attack us, as they are flying on the wings of enthusiasm from their Chelsea win.”
The Biscione boss, however, insisted that despite the defeat, the game against a confident Napoli team was not one-sided:
“We tried to attack them too and didn’t manage it. We lost the ball in midfield and Napoli were really fired up for seven minutes after their goal, then we got back into the match.”
Claudio Ranieri accepted that the team is in a bad shape, but emphasized that the road to recovery will be slow and one step at a time. He was adamant that to return to winning ways, his team will have to make better use of the
scoring opportunities that were provided to them.
“Everything must be one step at a time. We need to score a goal and that is the way to find a win. ”
The coach insisted that he needs more time to work things out at the club and his resignation is not the solution to Inter Milan’s woes. The 60-year-old added that he believes in the team, and the players are working hard to bring
about a turnaround at the club.
