The Nerazzurri captain admits that the club has no master plan to steer them out of the current crisis; urges his team to play game by game.
Inter Milan suffered yet another defeat at the hands of unbeaten Juventus, and amidst already mounting criticism from the media, the loss is nothing less than rubbing salt to the club’s wounded season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096 admitted that the team has no magic plan that can offer an immediate solution to the Nerazzurri’s failing form. He insisted that the best way forward is to ignore the season’s disappointing progress, and to focus
on every next game. The Nerazzurri captain admitted that all efforts at hiding the club’s dismal performance this season will be in vain, and the team should look to salvage as many of the remaining points in the season as it can.
The defeat means that the Beneamata are now placed eighth in the Serie A points table, and their hopes of achieving the final qualification spot for the UEFA Champions League have taken another vital blow.
While talking to the press, the 38-year-old said:
“We have to think Sunday after Sunday. It’s useless to make calculations. We have to try and win as much as possible and do the best that we possibly can. It has been a negative season and it’s pointless trying to hide that.”
The game was not all in vain for the Nerazzurri, as the team displayed an impressive show of pressing football that restricted Juventus in the first half. However, the second half of the tie saw the Old Lady come on top of the
game with goals from Martin Caceres and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Del Piero.
The Inter captain insisted that the Bianconeri are a formidable opponent, and to beat them in a stadium where they remain unbeaten was a tough ask for a crisis stricken side.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567, particularly in the first half, played a great game, and we did so at Juve's ground in a stadium in which the Bianconeri are unbeaten. We also started the second half well, but their goal took the wind out of our sails.”
Inter Milan have the next three Serie A games against Genoa, Cagliari and Siena; relatively modest sides that will give the troubled Milan outfit a lot of hope of a last hurrah before the end to the season.
