Inter Milan striker, Giampaolo Pazzini, has expressed his desire to play alongside Riccardo Montolivo in the next 2011-12 season. The striker hoped that the Fiorentina midfielder could join the Nerazzurri in the summer which would be a welcome move on the
part of the club officials.
Pazzini and Montolivo were team-mates at Atlanta and the same was the case at Florence before they both signed for their respective Serie A outfits. The 26-year-old Italian also stated that the Italian powerhouse could easily be able to get the services
of the Lillies midfielder.
Pazzini joined Inter Milan in 2011 after serving Sampdoria for two years. Since joining the Nerazzurri this year, the striker has already notched up eight goals from just 14 appearances. Recently he scored two very important goals for his side and both goals
game in stoppage time after his side trailed the game for a good part of 91 minutes to Cesena.
Former Fiorentina striker further mentioned, "I'd love to play alongside [Riccardo] Montolivo again. And not just because he's a close friend of mine and we grew up together, but also because he's a great midfielder who sets up a lot of goals. He has a lot
of talent, great vision and always knows where the goal is. It's great to play in the same team as him."
The Italian international Montolivo’s contract will run through to the summer of 2012 but it is expected that the midfielder won’t be signing a new deal with his current club. If the 26-year-old fails to sign a new deal with Fiorentina then Inter Milan could
cash in on the signing of the former Atlanta midfielder.
Montolivo joined the Viola line-up in 2005 and since then has appeared 185 times for the club so far. He also has 13 goals under his belt and could be on his way to Giuseppe Meazza this summer.
Inter Milan are currently second in the League table with 69 points and eight points behind the leaders AC Milan. With three games left to play in the season, Inter’s only hope is to finish second unless AC Milan slips drastically in their remaining three
fixtures.
