Inter Milan centre-back, Lucio, has wished to stay at San Siro for a few more years. He wanted the officials to take a look into this matter and extend his contract with the club which expires next year in June 2012. The Brazilian mentioned that he is happy
at the club and also admired the future plans that officials have in their mind which could bring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 back to winning ways.
The 33-year-old expressed his grievances upon the fact that the Nerazzurri did not manage to defend the Scudetto and the European crown. The defender referred back to the 2009/10 season where his team won an incredible treble saying that was certainly the
lime light of his short Inter career so far. He played a key role in enabling his side to achieve that feat and has become an integral member of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 Araujo’s side since then.
He insisted that he is pleased with the proceedings so far at the club and wants to extend his stay with the club. The 33-year-old claimed that he has now come to grips with the club’s playing style after it took him some time settling down under Jose Mourinho.
He also hailed his former manager’s abilities and believed that the Portuguese made some fantastic decisions at the right time which led to the treble.
Lucio further added, “I hope to stay here, I’m waiting for my agreement to be renewed because it is my desire to remain. I have been at this club for two years now and they have been wonderful, but it will be up to the club to decide.”
The defender also talked about the upcoming Coppa Italia final on Sunday and told that his team are raring to go and beat Palermo. He said that Inter desperately want to finish on a high and grabbing silverware in the last game of the season would certainly
be a special feeling.
He concluded by saying, "We can't expect that an easy match is awaiting us against Palermo. We should not look at who the opponent is, but rather take to the pitch and play our game, to win. The more difficult the matches are, the more we need to show our
character.”
Lucio joined the Nerazzurri in 2009 from Bayern Munich and has made 62 Serie A appearances since then, netting in two goals. Since making his debut in 2000 for the Brazilian national side, the defender has made 97 International appearances to date and has
four goals under his belt.
