The Nerazzurri manager has stated that they have had just one month to train before Europa League preliminary against Hajduk Split, and stressed that he could have used more time before the match.
Andrea Stramaccioni has voiced his concern ahead of the start of the new season, and has stated that the lack of adequate time for practice could hamper their performance in the upcoming match against Hajduk Split.
The Nerazzurri could only manage a Europa League qualification spot in the league after a dismal run in their last season, and will visit the Croatian club to play the first-leg of the European preliminaries on 2nd August.
However, the Milan outfit have had to start their season earlier than other teams in Serie A, meaning that they have had lesser time for their pre-season training.
Stramaccioni insisted that playing Hajduk Split at their home stadium poses a challenge for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, and insisted that their lack of practice could affect their performance in the upcoming first-leg of the qualification tie.
However, the Nerazzurri manager was confident that his team will be able to stand up to the challenge, and outperform their foreign adversaries.
While talking to the press, the 36-year-old said:
“We're arriving at this match with less than a month’s work under our belts. And for an Italian team it’s never easy to play as early as 2 August, but we think we'll be able to do well just the same.”
Stramaccioni went on to remark upon Ivan Vukovic, branding him the best player in the Croatian club.
The Nerazzurri manager revealed that he knows the Montenegrin national from his time at AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, and also stated that Hajduk Split have strong players in the midfield and defence.
“I know http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-Vukovic-c17370. When I was with Roma’s youth academy we considered him to be a very interesting youngster. I think he’s one of their most dangerous together with the two midfielders and the central defender, not to mention the goalkeeper.” He added.
Stramaccioni also stated that the fact that their Croatian adversaries have played four competitive games before the start of the new season, means that they will have an even tougher challenge in the away-leg.
