Inter set to appoint Gasperini as their new manager; Moratti denies Blanc rumours: Serie A news
According to the reports in Italian media, former Genoa manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, is set to replace Leonardo as the new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan manager.
Leonardo, last week announced that he will leave the Nerazzurri to join Ligue 1 outfit, Paris Saint Germain, as their new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
However, reports in the media suggest that Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti, has held a decisive meeting with Gasperini to hand him the managerial role at the San Siro. After the meeting, the former Juventus manager refused to answer the media’s questions and said that he will talk in a few days.
Talking to the reporters Gasperini said, "I'm not saying anything today but if you call me in the next few days I'll gladly listen to you. I'll gladly speak to you in a few days' time."
The 53-year-old was appointed as the manager of Genoa in 2006 and after a mixed bag of results, he was sacked in November 2010.
On the other hand, Moratti, has denied rumours linking the French national team manager, Laurent Blanc, with the managerial role at Inter Milan.
Widespread reports in the Italian media suggested that Blanc is the front runner to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 as the Nerazzurri manager but the President has denied the rumours.
Moratti said, "Besides the fact that Blanc coaches the French national team, hence we deal with the problems of being able to approach him, I believe he is enjoying that experience and wants to continue to do so. Hence, we have not contacted him and I don´t think it is the right time to do so."
The 67-year-old is hopeful that the managerial situation at the club will be resolved in the coming week and he will hope to have the new manager installed by the time the transfer window re-opens on July 1st, 2011.
