what are some ways to get from NY to Houston, TX? (without flights or driving please!)

If you want to eliminate flights or driving from consideration, you've limited yourself to either Amtrak or Greyhound. (While there may be other options, I'll be darned if I can  think of any.)

Greyhound only or Amtrack and Greyhound.  You will not be able to take a train directly from NY to Houston.
