I'm interested in cultural anthropology (maybe even considering getting a degree), but I'd like to know what you can recommend reading as an introduction to the subject, any books that are just perfect for starters?

  1. William Graham Sumner: Folkways

    Urs Bitterli: Savages and Civilized

Both are entertaining and informative at the same time.

  2. check out:

Paul Bohannan's "High points in anthropology" (good for starting)

Malinowsky's "argonauts of the western pacific"

    atkinson's "Handbook of ethnography"

    Good Journeys!
