Interested in becoming a sailor need some answers pls help.

i like to be a sailor and 1 day i hope to become a captain what kind of ship here in malaysia that need sailors and how much does it pay and where do i apply.

*I dont want to be a navy sailor....

go to sailor training college in Singapore or Malaysia also got

hm...

plenty of ships around...

tanker ships, cargo ships, passanger ships, tug boats & etc..

the requirement for each ships are different..

kimht is right, job opportunities for navigation work are more in singapore..

and Singapore Polytechnic offer the best Maritime aka Nautical Studies..

some tanker ship company even sponsor the students' course fee, which the student has to sign contract and later on worked for 2 years for the co.

if im not wrong, for navigation/ nautical studies, you'll sail as a cadet for 2 years after just 6 months of study period in poly...

then you'll have to come back to poly to finish the course..

upon graduating, you'll receive your class 3 cert..and you can sail...

let's say in tanker ship,as a third officer with basic pay of at least USD 1500.

then gradually you'll move up and eventually you have to take on more exams to upgrade you class cert to be a captain.
