Interested in buying a house in carribean , where are best buys and safest location?

You have placed this under "Turks and Caicos". I think that in buying a Caribbean property you have to think of several types of safety: freedom from crime (including burglary to your unoccupied residence) and freedom from natural predators or sources of danger (e.g. various forms of animal life and plant life which could destroy your property and -- oh so important! the possibility of volcano eruptions and hurricanes. I have memories of Hurricane Ivan flattening Grand Cayman in 2004.

Turks and Caicos is mushrooming at the moment and some projects have had to be halted, having run out of impetus. I would suggest Discovery Bay, Providenciales, which is at the less fashionable end of Grace Bay beach, but very much on the map when it comes to local activities and festivities and looking forward to being further developed in terms of facilities with the building of a shopping mall. It is also relatively safe from natural threats.

You put this in Trinidad & Tobago, so I'll just say that, from what the people from T&T have been posting, you don't want to live there.  They've made many postings about the crime and poor living conditions there.

Grand Cayman is very expensive.  Maybe Belize, or Mexico, or Roatan?
