Question:

Interesting, school appropriate costume?

I'm looking for a unique costume idea, something like a murder victim. Not goth, or anything, just unique. It can be kind of "cute", but it needs to be high school appropriate.

  1. mel gibbson, paris hilton, brittney spears  i would get scared and run if see them in the street

    This is the corpse bride.

You could probably get a white dress like that at a thrift store then cut the ends, die blue at the ends and rip it up. Go to a wig store and ask for a wig like. And you should be able to find most of the stuff in the picture. Or you could order it online.

  3. You could always go as a "cereal" killer.

  4. High School teachers can be amazingly anal when it comes to what is and isn't appropriate.  It's not so much their fault, it is that they are afraid of getting complaints from the perpetually offended people...the sort of people that really LOOK for ways to feel offended.  I would avoid anything with blood or violence involved. Sorry.

The good thing about High School is that you are in an environment where people are at least a little bit educated and literate. If you dress like Jane Austen at least some people will get it, so you don't have to restrict yourself to TV and movie crocheters.

If you were in the UK I'd recommend you dress as Britannia, (see http://www.ruebritannia.co.uk/images/004... that is probably a bit to geeky for a US High School.

If you have the body for it, I'd recommend either Bat Girl or Harley Quinn from Batman http://www.gothampublicworks.com/  or perhaps Supergirl.

If you are into clothes, then go all out and do a Renaissance dress.

They cost an arm and a leg, so you might have to make your own.

You could go in a toga if you wanted, that would give you a lot of latitude on just how s**y or not s**y you wanted to be.

There is always the grim reaper...just do the black robe and hood.

    Your bathrobe and bunny slippers....

  5. I saw an adolescent kid in my neighborhood go trick-or-treating as a Titanic survivor a year or two after the movie came out. He wore a bright orange life jacket and a pin featuring a wide-angle shot of the ship from the movie and carried a giant plastic oar and a cooler for his candy. Maybe you could do something like that.

  6. Check out your nearest thrift store

  7. anything with blood or suggestive violence probably won't be allowed at your school....also if it involves a weapon, that's definitely not appropriate.
