Question:

Interesting Scientists....?

I have to do a report on scientists and their lives before they made an important discovery. For example, Albert Einstein's life as a scientist before he stated that E=mc squared. Do you have any suggestions for any interesting scientists. I'm particularly interested in astrology and oceanography. It must be someone working between 1500 and 1941.

  1. Astrology is not a science, so no point in searching for scientists in that field.

In the field of astronomy, ones I admire are:

    - Galileo

    - Kepler

    - Stephen Hawking

    - Alan Guth

In the field of oceanography, ones I admire are:

    - Jacques Cousteau

    - Robert Ballard

    - Kirk Bryan

  2. You have a very wide choice. BTW, did u mean astronomy?

    Copernicus

    Newton

    Leibnitz

Niels Bohr to mention a few

  3. I guess you will have to choose oceanographers, since astrology is hardly a science ( I'm hoping that you meant 'astronomy', in which case there are many scientists to choose from).

  4. Galileo is pretty good since  he went through many struggles before and after presenting his theories, since it was so hard for the people of his time to believe his profound ideas.

  5. You should do Galileo Galilee. 15th century astronomer.

  6. How about Clyde Tombaugh, the man who discovered Pluto in 1930.
