Interesting Stuff in the News Lately?

Question

I asked a question like this before but my answers weren't really helpful. I need something along the lines of mutated animals or cures for diseases or unknown substances found by scientists or newly discovered creature. Something interesting like that. It needs to be within two weeks. So have you heard anything good lately? Thanks for the help!!! =]

Japanese began working on mixing the genes of spiders and goats yesterday. The idea behind it is that in large amounts, spider webs are stronger than steal. However since a spider farm would be hard to manage, the brilliant Japanese thinkers decided to try and mix the genes so that goats can spin the webs. Already they have made glow in the dark mice by mixing mice genes with those of the squid.
