Question:

Interesting VP choice, but what about?

The selection of Palin for the Republican ticket is interesting and overall would seem to be a good choice as she could very well draw the voters that feel that Hillary got screwed by the Democrats. On the other hand, Palin instituted a large windfall profit tax on oil companies that drill on the North Slope in Alaska. I wonder how this will go over with the GOP outside of Alaska. What do you think?

  1. It's a problem, but the VP doesn't set national policy in any case.   Apparently Alaska has already lost Billions in Future revenue because of the tax.  MCcain should take note.

  2. "Palin instituted a large windfall profit tax on oil companies that drill on the North Slope in Alaska. I wonder how this will go over with the GOP outside of Alaska."

It appears that the GOP are window dressing for appeal and pandering voters; historically they would have ignored. Nonetheless; Obama's acceptance speech by Nelson's rating had over 38 million views. That's more than Americans watching the Olympics or the Academy Awards!

  3. I think that her heavy involvement with oil and oil companies, says it all. The republicans seem to have no other concern on there minds but oil.

  4. I would have prefered that he pick Romney, but McCain is a gambler and he could turn out to be crazy like a fox. This election just got even more interesting. The plot thickens....

  5. McCain first decision is a blunder, How many more blunders are you willing to take?

  6. She has credentials.  She can handle it very well.

I've already told Dems that they should give the extra tax revenue from Exxon, etc. back to consumers instead of letting Dems in Congress waste it.

To my knowledge it was NOT  a WPT.  It was just extra revenue that came in based on the contracts between oil cos. and the state gov't.

The Dems in DC want to change the contract rules AFTER the price of oil went it.  Shameful.

  7. I don't know about how it will go over with the oilies.

But choosing a VP is "the first important decision of every Presidential candidate".

I gotta question McCain's decision to base his VP choice on kissing up to Democrats.

Isn't he running on the Republican ticket.
