With the recent Supreme Court decision regarding gun control I found this information rather interesting.

- Suicides accounted for 55 percent of the nation's nearly 31,000 firearm deaths in 2005, the most recent year for which statistics are available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

- In 2005, homicides accounted for 40 percent of gun deaths.

- Accidents accounted for 3 percent.

- The remaining 2 percent included legal killings, such as when police do the shooting

1. i agree in the "right" to own a firearm and do

2. the second amendment has nothing to do with that "right"

3. the government (the people) should and do have the right to regulate the type and license firearms

and

nothing in the case heard by the supreme court changed that fact.

4. DC had an ill construed law because they banned all handguns with no regard to the type of firearm, it's purpose or who owned it.

5. some types of gun-control are warranted, legal and will continue if the people decide that they chose for it to be in their communities.

we are and will continue to be governed by the will of the people no matter how hard our "elected" officials try to interfere.

Expand with the facts. Nearly all of the 40% is drug and gang related. But if the fed gov's statistics are true then why the unemployeement rate so high ?

How many criminals actually register their gun? I agree with the Supreme Court-- what DC was trying to do was an infringement upon Constitution Rights. You've heard it before... If guns were outlawed, only the criminals would have them........                                                            michr..
