  1. Look in your local newspaper (paper copy or online) or check out a site like http://www.cnn.com/ or http://www.time.com/time/ to find an article. Choose an article that appeals to your interests- those sites don't just offer international news stories. They offer entertainment, education, and sports stories, too.

For a more comedic approach you could choose an article from http://www.theonion.com/content/index. The stories are very funny and offer some great commentary on culture and current events.

To write about what you think makes it good consider the interest of the topic (why did you pick this article?), the way it was written (even news and feature stories in a regular newspaper are written very differently - was it serious? humorous? concise?), the perspective of the writer (did you agree with the position of the author?), any photographs, charts, or graphics included with the article (did they serve the story and help you understand? were they for entertainment?), or even how the article applies to your life, your school, or your culture (how is it relevant?).

    Good luck!
