Question:

Interesting criticism I received?

I wrote a satirical column in class and it was critiqued by my class but without names. You weren't uspposed to know who critiqued you. it was to help understand the psychology behind criticism.

They said, that in this story, "I thought really hard to be unfunny'

It made me laugh, but it was also rather interesting. Satire is not like comedy - so it made me feel kind of good that this person commented on my satirical ability through my 'thought' or intelligence.

For those that know satire that it's more cerebral and really isn't comedy at all, and at times is not even meant to be funny.

But, within this critique, and pondering this negative criticism, was I successful in satire? Or, was I not? Or was the person not 'getting it'?

Just curious.
