Interesting pairings for the tee off at the Greenbrier Classic
Greenbrier Classic is about to kick off and there have been some very interesting pairings of players for the tee off.
Few of the notable pairings are: the group of Marc Leishman, Brandt Snedeker, and Sean O'Hair, and the group of Tiger Woods, Webb Simpson, and Steve Stricker. Some other groups are also very competitive like Keegan Bradley, Jim Furyk, and Tom Watson.
Let us take a look at the group of Marc Leishman and company. Marc recently won the Travelers Championship title. He will be in high spirits and will be looking to bank on his good form.
On the other hand, Brandt Snedeker will be looking to repeat the performance he exhibited to clinch the Farmers Open. However, he has not been in good form recently.
Sean O’Hair has had an average season so far. Although he has not managed to win a tournament, he has made cuts in numerous events.
The Greenbrier Classic offers a hefty sum of prize money, $6,100,000 and the winner is awarded 500 FedEx points.
The defending champion Scott Stallings will be locked in a tough battle with Stuart Appleby and Phil Mickelson.
The group of Keegan Bradley is also quite tough, as Jim Furyk will be looking to regain his old touch.
Tiger Woods who has just won AT&T National and is chasing the record for the most number of PGA titles will be hoping to take home his fourth trophy of the season.
Recently, Tiger has been in sublime form, he was leading at one stage during the US Open and, from there, he went on to win the AT&T National.
Webb Simpson, who has still not made a final decision about his British Open appearance, will be eager to finish in the top 10.
Simpson is still awaiting the final words from the doctors regarding the birth of his second child.
Ryder Cup appearance will be the motivation for Steve Stricker to do well in this tournament. He currently lies on the 14th place in the Ryder Cup standings for team USA. Steve will be aiming to impress the Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III.
