Interesting taps?

Question

Can you let me know if , apart from ceramic disk, gate valve, mixer style(single handle), inline, turning ball with hole in it (similar to inline taps) and s***w down the handle onto a washer you have different types of taps? Approx cost of a very basic garden type tap (commonly the washer style tap). This ? comes from Melbourne Australia, please include your approx location.
