Interfence on phone line?

i am on broadband despite having micro filters fitted to my phone line i am getting bad interference on my phone line does anyone know how to cure this

  1. So do I and there seems to be little they can do..my broadband connection keeps failing because of interference on the line. You can report the fault to BT or ring 0800 800 151 and you can automatically check the line...but generally it says the line is OK even if you have some interference.

    You can ring India on 0800 111 4567 and they may be able to help or arrange for an engineer to come out.


  2. Sadly, it is case of how far you are to your local 'phone exchange.

    I am lucky, in that thee exchange is only about a 1/4 mile away.

    So to be technical about it, I have a 23dB drop in broadband & phone lines.

    If you have miles of copper cable between your computer and yor'phone, signal loss & intrference will occur.

    We used to call it birds poo-ing on the line.

    If you go the whole hg, and have them dig up the garden to run a fibre-optic cable, so be it.

    I stick to good old copper, and my lines are as clear as a clear thing.
