Question:

Interferance Through 6X9's

I have got twin subs and 6X9's running in the boot of my car and i get a horrible distortion coming through my 6X9 speakers.

I am running them all off of the standard head unit in a 04 primera. I have used the autoleads speaker to RCA converter to get my rca points! The rca cable i am using is sheilded and is not running the same side as my amp power cable! The rca's then feed in to the amp running my 2 subs and then in to the amp running the 6X9's!

Has anyone got any idea's on how to stop this interfereance?

Cheers

  1. Make sure the connection to the 6x9's are really secure, I had the same problem and the connection was coming loose when the bass hit.

  2. on the 6/9 try to install bass blockers you just connect on the postive of the speaker wire very easy

    that sounds like the problem

  3. Try cutting the positive lead to each speaker, and fitting a small in-line fuse (3Amp is plenty) this has worked for me before!

  4. Run to Best Buy to the car audio department and ask for bass blockers. You're gonna want your sound from your 6x9's to be very clear I'm assuming and no bass since you're using subs for bass. These are usually blue in color (atleast the ones I've seen from Best But are) but other colors are probably out there. They are fairly cheap also. Check out the link and it will help also.
