We have a welding shop, and everytime someone is welding (mostly TIG), you get noise on the phone. It is a bizfon 680 with Biztouch 3 handsets. I think it is a six line system. Anyone have an idea of what I need to do about this? I have been looking at all kinds of EMI shielding methods, including paint for the room the system is in, or the wall dividing the shop from the offices. My problem is that most of these solutions are expensive, so I cannot afford to experiment, I really need to know what will solve this problem once and for all.

  1. Try to relocate the welding machine's supply line. You may also consider to use EMI filter to isolate your phone's power supply from your shop's mainline.

  2. / metal shield in wall, or move computers away from wall closest to welding area.

  3. what you need is a Dect 6.0 phone....next time around you buy a new phone....not a MHz5.8 or MHz2.4......!
