Intergration between my Seagate 500GB with Cox Digital box Explorer 3250 manufactured by Scientific Atlantic.?

Basically i am trying to make this two objects compatible to be able to record and store movie flics on my external seagate harddrive. The explorer has a USB port where i can plug in the seagate. Any creative ideas? My cable provider Cox wont help at all!!

The USB won't do anything unless the cable company and Scientific Atlanta make it work. Cable Cos' DVRs are locked down because the movie studios and  TV studios don't want you sharing their programming online. So I don't think you're ever going to get your HDD to work with that DVR. I suggest you buy an HD or a Series 3 Tivo. Your Cable Co installs a cable card and the Tivo becomes your cable box. It's really easy to upgrade a Tivo too.
