  1. I am going into the 9th grade and at my high school (Jefferson)  There is a class called Interior Design...

So i suggest you just wait until high school then take the classes! hope this helps btw i am taking the class!

  2. You have chosen a career that is rewarding both financially and personally rewarding.  One of the aspects of our profession is mathmatical in nature.  You have to know how to accurately measure, we use geometry and other mathmatics almost every day.  I suggest taking some math courses.  It is also imperative to have good written and oral communication skills, so some coursework in those areas will help you get the basics.  If your school has business courses those will help, too, because most of us own our own business and you have to know how to run, manage and operate it.  Then, of course, there is the creative aspect, perspective, knowledge of color, style, historical trends, architecture, fabric and textiles, sewing, painting, drafting, drawing, etc. and if there are any classes to give you the basics in those areas you will be ready to study the field at the undergraduate level without having to take the pre-requisites.

  3. It's good that you know what you want to be at such an early age.  Take advantage of your school's art classes as it will help in this field.  Make sure to let your guidance or career counselor know about your intentions and see what they prefer.  Maybe there are some computer programs they could recommend.
