Excuse me, I'm an italian student and today I have an exame...can you write me some information about the interior monologue and the flux of conscience?thanks

  1. 'Interior Monologue' is what we call the unspoken thoughts in someone's head.  The writer is still crafting them so the thoughts are logical and organized and fit the story. The reader knows what the character is thinking, but the other characters in the room do not.

    'Flux of conscience' is also called "stream of conscience" and that's when a writer writes all the thoughts in a character's head--including random words and ideas that float through and do not make sense.  James Joyce was famous for this.
