Intermediate surfer looking for a new surfboard?

ive been using my friends 8ft softboard and im getting tired of it.

im looking for something smaller and maneuverable on medium size waves.

i usually surf in waikiki and in the philippines.

oh btw im 5'8 and 145 lbs

fish boards are great for what you are looking for. keep in mind that they are much harder to ride but once you learn they are great. 6'6" is a great size board but i suggest going to a surf shop and talking to the guys there because they will get you the right board and stuff. hope this helps. have fun surfing
