Intermitent 2-second sound interruptions on cable HDTV?

Help, please. I keep getting interruptions to the sound on my TV lasting about 2 seconds. They don't come every day but today, especially, they are coming all the time. I have a Toshiba HDTV getting pic and sound through digital cable (Time Warner) using HDMI cables to run sound through an Onkyo receiver. While I'm about it, the Onkyo makes little clicking sounds when switching back and forth from analogue to HDTV and back. Is this normal? The first problem is of greater concern. Thanks.

2 second sound interruptions: It's your T/W input and it's not that unusual with any cable provider.
