Intermittently the picture and sound both go away as if the TV were turned off. When this happens, the TV can be turned off and on from both the remote and the front panel (you can hear the click), but this does not clear the condition. The reset button will not clear this condition either, but it will power off the TV if it is on like it's supposed to.
After a few minutes, the TV can be powered on and will work normally for up to an hour.
Sure sounds like a heat-sensitive component to me. Any hints on where to look?
