I just went bike riding and my friend ran into me and knocked me over. When i fell though, i landed straight on the end of the handle bar. Even though i had a shirt on, my skin is cut...my upper body kind of aches and the cut burns. I fell right on the part of your upper body that is half on the rib and half not...how do i know if i have internal bleeding??? do you think i do??

  1. lol no your fine

  2. Hitting handle bars with enough force could cause internal bleeding. However I do not recommend running off to the doctor terrified. You are most likely doing just fine.

Internal bleeding is usually accompanied by a great deal of pain, swelling and usually you feel really sick. That's not to say you can't have internal bleeding without that, but all the organs inside your body in the area you hurt would create serious problems (aka pain) if they were bleeding.

On a sillier note, a bruise is internal bleeding so you are bleeding internally just not in the death bringing sort of way :)  Wait a while and see if the pain and swelling goes away. It might take a while for it to get back to normal. If the pain gets worse though go to the ER as you can never be too careful with your body, we only get one right ;)
